Plumber advice needed re: Slab Leak

Thursday I noticed a warm spot on the ceramic tile in the kitchen, the next morning hot water was coming out of several places from under the wall in the garage.

Places where there is no piping behind the wall.

I figured it for a slab leak. I cut a hole in the drywall in the garage and found the area where the hot water lines go into the foundation and could hear water running despite no faucets being open in the house.

Friday I had a plumber come out to take a look and give a rough estimate. He said he would need to re-route the hot water line(s) through the attic.

He also said I should consider doing a full repipe of the house and gave me a rough guesstimate of $3600 (2 bathrooms, house is 1500 sq ft).

HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:

He said that they would come out Monday and and do some leak detection and pressure test the lines, etc. If I opt for a full repipe, is this testing even necessary?

Is a full repipe really necessary?

The house is 20 years old and has copper pipe.

I'd like to get several estimates if I opt for a full repipe. Will plumbers charge me to come out and give an estimate?

Thanks much for any help/advice, I realize I could just call and ask these things on Monday, but the whole thing is stressing me out. I want to hit the ground running Monday morning and have some kind of game plan ready.
