Best transom mount trolling MG vs MK

Looking to buy a 24volt 80lb thrust, I know most the whaler guys are using the motorguides but I could get a better price on the minnkota. The shaft on the motorguide is 45" vs 42" with the kota. Its going on a 17 whaler. Which motor should I get?
