I have a Citica that has been supertuned. but i am not satisfied w/ the distance i am casting. Now, I don't expect to cast over 100 yards. I've read people stating that they can cast "a mile or so". I'm sure it's an exaggeration but i would love to relate to that feeling.
in my reel, i have 8lb (?) power pro slick braid attaced to monofilament via uni-uni knot with either a 1/8 or 1/4 jig head because i want to throw plastics with it. even with the wind behind me, it doesn't cast that much further.
many times i get backlashes. i'm not sure if its because of the way those brakes that are located in the side plate are all pushed down or perhaps my thumb isn't properly placed on the spool during casting. Today, i raised two (2) of those brakes and it appeared to reduce my backlashes.
as of now, I only throw in a somewhat sidearm motion.
I appreciate any of yalls advice. THank you
