Considering buying another 115 Merc Pro XS for my skiff build - but then I saw that Mercury came out with a new 115 4 stroke that's 30-some-odd pounds lighter.
Anyone have any prop suggestions running the same motor?
I don't want it to be a dog off the bottom, but I'm not really concerned about neck breaking hole shots either. I'd like a good mix of a good hole shot and moderate top ends.
I've heard that there have been some issues with the Bravo 1 xs 24p (mostly user error probably) and that the Tempest 23p might be the way to go - it's supposedly a little more forgiving.
Also, any thoughts on a 4 blade vs. a 3 blade ... ?
The boat is an East Cape Canoe - Vantage. So any experience with anything in that class would be helpful. Hell's Bay, Maverick, Hewes ... etc etc ...
