I normally throw shrimp or lures but I decided to try some of the croaker today since that's been hot, and I noticed something feechin the morning bite. I was fishin a shallow reef ledge going from 1-3 ft of water. When I threw the croaker freelined with a chatterwait i wasn't getting any bites but when I rigged the croaker under my cork it was almost every cast. I think my croaker was hiding down in the reef with that weight on and the cork kept that croak extremely visible in the middle of the water column- and that made all the difference. Why isn't the cork a popular method for throwin them croaks?
