Experienced my first hub disaster this weekend. Was able to limp into town and purchase a replacement at Academy.
I have a 2006 McClain tandem with axles/springs and 1,750 lb. hubs. I want to upgrade to something heavier and more reliable. Should I just install the best hubs I can buy? Or should I make the jump and upgrade to torsion axles with stronger hubs?
I'm just looking to avoid problems in the future and improve the ride. Boat seems to pull just fine, but bounces a bit much.
What manufacturer should I go with on the axles and hubs?
