Got an early start with a good forecast wanted to make a long day trip. Ran the first 70 miles non stop on good seas but water was still beach green color. Looked at some weed lines with nothing on them so moved to the first bottom spot. First spot was covered up by 20lb AJs and massive schools of red snapper. Kept moving south hitting spots along the way, water got better after 80 miles out. Wanted to stop by one of my favorite rigs in the 500 block, but it was no longer there. Caught a lot of fish around that old rusty rig, going to miss it. Was around 90 out by now and hitting platforms and few bottom spots. Got into some good dodos, then started to hammer out a bunch of grouper on vertical jigs. Pointed north late in the day, made a couple of stops looking for ling with no luck, do think the Ling have left the building for us out of Sabine for the year. Was able to pick up some mangrove snapper on the way in, nice to be able to catch those tasty fish on purpose. We used all of the daylight fishing making our way to the ramp well after dark. Going to put my boat in the shop in a couple of weeks for some much needed TLC while I spend some time in the woods protecting my food plots. So good chance this is my last offshore trip of the year and may not be back on the water until Feb or so. Going to up grade all my electronics and may repower. Was a good trip with great friends, could not have asked for a better day of fishing. Enjoy the pics
