Questions for Shoalwater Cat Owners

Looking at some different boats and been researching shoalwater for a bit. Been in 2 different 23' here in FL. I want to have dual stations with a tower so would do standard center console then maybe add a tower. (Have family so would like to be down below riding with them when not on tower). Questions I have if you could help answer



Speed isn't a main concern, but a hole shot is. Can I do a 200 HP ? Been on a 150 HP and didn't get out of hole very well



Those that own a 250 HP how is fuel economy?



As far as water getting in the back compartments. One I was on , the owner added bilge pumps to both. The other owner did not and continuously has water back there . I realize these are not designed with bilge pumps but is it annoying to always have water in the boat or in these compartments ? How do you manage it?



Shifting more weight to the front to keep from proposing, one of the owners moved the batteries to where the cooler seat would be in front of the console. Is this a good idea or any else done this?



Lastly how water tight are the compartments? Any recommendations here.



Realize a lot of questions but am seriously considering this style boat and appreciate any insight or any other ideas you can provide
