back pain

Going tomorrow to try acupuncture for my increasing lower back pain. Been diagnosed with "degenerative bone deterioration" 12 years ago. Anybody tried acupuncture for this? Did it work? Does it hurt? How many visits, etc. I searched this topic but found little information. Thanks!
