Awkward situation with deceased friends family.

I am fortunate to work around a bunch of guys who ponied up some cash to give to the daughter of a friend of ours who passed suddenly. Question is, the funeral is tomorrow and I may never seen the teenage daughter again. The wife of our friend is not the mother of the girl. Anyone been in a similar situation? Common courtesy dictates to me, the service is not the place, but when? Asking for a forwarding address seems awkward too. We just want to do the right thing. sad2sm
