New timers to The Mighty Red-Fin; Fernando, Martha, Clarissa, and Erin, came out this morning and did it right.
They caught a pile of fish and filled their white bass limit before it got hot. 100 white bass, with serious culling going on, and a fine striper to boot by 9:30.
I bet trapperjon unhooked a hundred fish today alone. I was busy unhooking left and right as well.
Action was fine indeed, white bass schooling on top and an occasional striper crashing through.
Roosterstackle.com, The Kidd, or, The Gunslinger, with a teaser tied above was double duty dynamite! Erin and Clarissa caught their share of doubles as did everyone else at one time or another as the fish would school all around us. It took little action, just drop it over and jig it off the bottom and pretty soon, wham, a white bass will grab it.
Let it run and fight where it is until you feel the 2nd thump, got yourself a double now.
The fish were very good size today and several stripers were landed, only one keeper Fernando caught, a fine fat one too.
So we could cull all the small white bass and fill the cooler and then the live well with big ones.
Back at the ranch (where trapperjon put the electric saw to them for 1 hour and 20 mnuetes straight!) they made an impressive pile indeed.
I am booked or busy until the 30th which is open, and have I have August 5,6,8,9, to the 13th open.
The 15th to the 18th are open as well.
