Jigging Bite and thermocline ???

Normally by this time of the summer the thermocline has set in and slowed my vertical jigging bit and I watch the trollers kill them. I haven't got to go in a couple of weeks but on my last trip there was no thermocline and the jigging bite was great. My question is has the influx of fresh water this year pushed the thermocline back ??? Just curious.

Types of ray for shark bait?

Got into an interesting conversation on facebook regarding types of ray for shark bait and how effective each is. I think most would agree cownose is the favorite but when it comes to southern vs atlantic ray or skate what kind of results have everyone had generally speaking?? I caught 6 nice atlantic rays that I kept for bait. Ive caught a few nice bull sharks on atlantic and a good bull on a skinny skate but a few people said they hated them and that they don't produce compared to southern rays. Opinions??

Yamaha OX66 150 died on me...

Took the boat out today from Bird Island Ramp. Ran down the ICW about a mile or two. Motor was making a slight tapping noise. Got on plane and was running about 4,500 RPM and it just flat out died and wouldn't start again. Ruined a nice weekend of fishing after an 8 hour drive.

Plenty of gas...plenty of oil...plenty of juice...starter engages the flywheel but won't spin it to start so it's seized up. Pretty sure it toast. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions before it goes to the shop.

Me and my son fished the second gut today at Jamaica Beach while the girls sunned themselves. We managed 5 keepers,. I brain farted and was thinking the slot started at 16 inches and let 2 go so we would have had 7 keepers. That doesn't include 3 that spit the hooks as they got to me or my son. All caught on live shrimp under popping cork. Great day with my boy.

03 Tundra-Driver window issue

03 Tundra driver's side window will go down w/o problem (electric not manual). However, when raising window it may stop after a short trip up and then switch doesn't work. Wait about 20 seconds, switch up and it works just like it should. Distance going UP before it stops varies. But once it starts again, it goes up like it should.

Is it: (1) bad switch; (2) motor going bad; (3) something else?

Motors for Dummies

I'm the dummy.

My Evinrude 25 hp. I haven't run in a yr. prior- it was serviced by Sport Marine, then run for a week.

I replaced gas. Blew out gas lines. Bled gas out of carbs.


Started up on first pull. Ran very well. Ewngaged throttle forwaard and back. Was perfect. After ten minutes I shut down and then went to start again. Ran well with primer up but once I lowered the primer on the throttle to put into gear, it began stalling.

It still runs and sounds great for a long time at a little bit higher idling speed but once that is lowered to engage the prop, it stalls.

Am I looking at a screwdriver adjustment or another carb job?
Or, should I just run that new gas through there for a longer period before I take it to the shop for work?

White 65qt yeti stolen straight out of my garage during the day! I'm not sure when but within the last week. It has a blue anodized grizzly-valve drain plug in it, and it has the yeti sticker on the front where the yeti logo is. The yeti logo fell off so I just put the sticker in its place. Let me know if anyone has seen it!

Mercury props on yamaha SHO

I tried using a mercury vengeance prop with the mercury hub kit for yamaha engine and put the prop on but as soon as I gave it gas, it spun like a chopper is anyone running mercury props on yamaha sho ???? if so what is the proper hub kit for it ???

Question on starting an LLC

Need advice from the 2cool brain trust.

My wife and I are starting a small business. The name is matching two of the three words that is already registered in Texas and the state denied it without consent from the other company.

I have spent a lot of time and money (logo design, site address, etc) on the name we have chosen already. So changing it is almost a non option at this point.

I need to have the owner sign a consent form for me to use the name. We are two completely different businesses and the other company has 0 online footprint as of now.

Do I certify mail the consent form with a letter stating who we are, and our goals and values?

Or do I call the owner on the phone first.

Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Tell the truth do any of you guys have a place you hide your crazy money from the wife? Don't get me wrong I can buy what I want but some of the things we buy will get you the eye roll if they knew the real cost. If you own several assault rifles and you go to buy another one because it is a great deal the wife looks at it like ( you already have 10 what do you need another one for ). In your mind you know its a smoking deal and you can sell it later for a profit. As a gear head I also have a performance addiction and the wife gives me the look when I waste money on that stuff.

I know its crazy but I just don't want to hear about it. It is not like what I spend effects our finances in any way. Women never forget anything and they know to the dime everything you have spent from the day you got married and save this for a rainy day. My wife never really hits me up for anything and I am getting concerned about her payback day.

My red was 3/4" short. Croakers were hard to beat. Caught lots of keepers and shorts. Fished nearly every pocket and mouth between the Brazos locks and Cold Pass. Waters starting to look really good since the dredge left. Just has to find green "not brown" and cooler water. They're stacked up.

Hello 2Cool, I recently decided to build an ar in 6.5 Grendel. But as I am about to start I am very confused on which barrel to buy. I'm currently looking at buying a Saturn barrel, but have no idea what I'm getting into. The differences between Grendel 1 and 2 chambers and other details are driving me crazy. I have been working Saturdays for the last 3 months, I got a new head unit and took a picture of my coordinates but since then I am on my 3rd phone. 2000 Southshore 26 Pro

Selling 2000 year Southshore 26 Pro with aluminum trailer.

In 2013 refurbished the top deck, added aluminum leaning post, extended the front casting deck 2 feet, installed HDS 8, Minn Kota 36 volt 101 trolling motor, new gauges, onboard battery charger.

2014 installed new carpet on the bunk boards.

2000 200 Horse Yamaha VMax with ~300Hrs. Powerhead blew last fall and never got around to fixing it.

For those who don't know much about these boats they are tanks built for big Galveston Bay. We've taken it offshore 30 miles in 4' nasty chop. It will run ~43mph and run in 12 inches of water. Great all around boat for this area.

Guide Reports!! Trophy Gar Fishing!!! Big Trophy Cats!! White Bass Bonanza!!

The past 3 days the fishing has been on fire!! Lake Livingston has been producing nothing but numbers of white bass, big blue cats, and giant alligator gar!! Tuesday I had a blast fishing with Mitch and his crew! Theses guys filled the cooler up fast! After we limited out on white bass we found a nice blue that gave Lane a great fight! I asked Mitch if he would be interested in catching a big alligator gar and he said Heck Yeah!! We found some nice gar rolling and hooked up to a big 6ft gar! We caught him on one of my smaller combos with only 20lb line, so we started following him with the trolling motor and finally wore him out in 40 mins! We were full of adrenaline when we finally got the gar in the boat and got a good picture before releasing him back into the water! It was a great time!!

Wednesday was a great time on the water with Ryan and his family for a full day trip! Ryan, his wife and little girls tore the white bass up and were reeling big ones in 4 at a time!! The catfish were biting pretty good through out the day and landed some giants!! It was a great time on the water with his family.

Today I had camp Cho-Yeh come out with a big group of boys, so I had Jeff (fishingaddiction) help me out on this morning! These boys put on a show today landing 230 white bass and could have kept 400 if they wanted too! It's always a good time putting teenage boys on fish and seeing smiles all the way around the boat!! After burning through one knife we finally finished cleaning fish and the boys had all the meat they wanted to take back to camp!! I couldn't of asked for a better group of guys to fish with!!
