My wife and I are starting a new salon suite business. We leased out an 8000 square foot retail space, and are building out the interior with 44 individual suites that we then lease to salon professionals to use to run their businesses.
We allow the tenants to paint the walls in their space. I would like to find someone good in the area that I could use if a tenant wants to paint their walls but doesn't want to do it themselves. I hate painting myself, and I won't do it.
I will be talking to the painter that the GC is using, but I anticipate that he won't want to mess with small, periodic jobs like this. He is painting everything in my standard color scheme, but the tenants can change the color in their rooms any color they want, to personalize them.
And while we are on the subject... what do you think a fair price would be to paint just the walls (no trim, no fancy finishes, just paint) of a room that is maybe 10x10 to 10x12. I will have the tenants provide the paint, you just apply it.
Is a gallon of paint enough to cover the walls in a room this size?
Any advice would be appreciated. I really would prefer that my tenants hire a pro instead of doing it themselves if they suck at painting...
