I got to surfside beach around 7am yesterday, and hooked up on a couple keeper trout right off the bat, then skipjacks showed up, and the trout disappeared (along with my bait). Is that normal?
Do you leave an area once the skipjacks show up, or do you change techniques, or what? I was using live shrimp under a popping cork, and it was probably the clearest I've ever seen the water there (could count my toes from chest deep). I couldn't keep a bait in the water longer than 10 seconds without losing it to those vibrating jumpers, lol.
