I have been looking for a boat for a while and finally decided a 1860 aluminum with a center console will do everything I want to do. I want to mainly go fishing in some lakes around houston and dallas and take it out in the marsh around the trinity to duck hunt and go to a camp house.
All I really want the boat to have is a small console. I wanted a tunnel hull originally but most of the guys I talked to said it really doesn't make much of a difference. I was thinking about the rear float pods but I've never drove a boat with them and I hear they really affect the handling. I'd like to be able to run in shallow water though.
I talked to a boat dealer that has a brand new green alumacraft 1860 mv with a small console, tunnel hull, small camo leaning post, and 2 removable seats with a 70 horse yamaha 4 stroke for $18,970 +ttl. This seemed pretty high to me. I hadn't tried to talk the guy down any because I'm not sure of what a fair price is. I'd like to upgrade to a 90 horse motor to because I think it's only a couple hundred bucks difference in price.
