I got up early to check the weather so I could call the trip off if need be, before anyone got on the road. It looked like most of the clouds were moving away from Gibbons, so trip was on.
I had Ray, now from Baytown, and Willy, from Brenham out for a fun morning. It was discussed how some might have thought it was a miserable morning, what with a little bit of drizzle now and then and a 13 mph north wind all morning, and fog. Of course, catching fish always gives one a different outlook on how the day is, LOL.
They were on fish quickly, with Ray turning the first cast into the first keeper of the day. We fished two spots before heading home. They managed to put 50 nice keepers in the cooler for the cleaning table, made almost 4 gallons of fillets.. Largest fish at 3#.
All fish caught on CJ's Shad Crawdad punch bait, under corks and with tight lines, in 6-8 foot water.
