I have been in East Matagorda Bay area few days ago (with my kayak). Had few hours of daylight left (after i got out of marsh). Bay was unfishable -- 3-4ft deep, v strong wind, chocolate milk water, 1ft waves. But ICW looked nice -- green slightly stained, protected from wind. I tried to throw plastics on a jig next to a dropoff. No bites.
Hence, the question -- is it possible to catch anything in ICW with artificials and how?
In that area bottom was sloping gently for about 20 yards from 4ft to 7ft and then dropping down to 20+ft. There should be fish down there somewhere. E.g. flounder. Maybe I should have tried "John Skinner" method (with bucktails and all)? I'd hate to lose those bucktails though -- they are pricey.
