New to freshwater, summer pond fishing ?'s

I'm new to freshwater, appreciate any tips. I'm in central Louisiana (not by choice lol) and have a few local ponds. How do you get hooked up on bass in the summer? Fish deep? Fish cover? Fish grass? What to throw also? Certain times of day to throw certain things? The pond is relatively small. I'd say about 500meters by 100 meters. I can reach every inch of water in it by cast.
