fishing poem

Didn't know I missed the sea so much until I returned again

The smell of salt air and freshness with each breath I take in

Soaks in my bones and brings back memories of joy and fun

Makes me full of adventure and fear all in one

The waves seem calm for now as we pass the jetty end

The rise and fall of our fragile skiff does not deter our goal.

If weather holds we will have a bend on our pole.

Dark clouds appear and bring the winds.

This wasn't in the forecast, will we be able to get in.

No matter now as my cork went down and the drag is reeling

All I know is hope and feeling

This is the fish I want and can bring in

To show my friends again and again

As the sea begins to roll my fish does so

Leaps from the sea and looks at me

Shows it's length and beauty

Whips it's head from side to side

Kissing my lure good bye

Rain comes down and wind begins to blow

Thank you Lord for the show.
