Wanted to scout before my trips but the winds would not allow it so I decided to go inshore playing after I put up some shrimp my neighbors brought to me. I take care of their property and they take care of me.
As I was launching my boat I asked Captain Will Wall to come with me but he told me to hop on his boat. He and Allen were on the way out looking for trout. I shut off my motor, pulled the boat out of the water, and parked the truck and boat. We headed out with his contender about 10:00. Where we went that day I could not have gone with my bay boat because of the seas.
At our first stop Will hooks up first and lands a fat about 4 pounder.
That place was slow so we moved around to several other places. Allen and Will were picking up a few and I was busy taking out the trash. I was getting aggravated catching hardheads while they were landing trout. I did have a few on that tore off before getting to the net. Just not my day. My first fish in the box was a nice 21 inch redfish. From there on I got into a few trout. We ran out of live bait and switched to plastics. We already had a good box for us and were back at the dock by 2:00 with 25 trout, 2 reds, and a sheepshead.
Our first few trout were brought up to the Venice Marina restaurant and before we had the rest of the fish cleaned we had a platter brought down to us right at the cleaning table. Fresh fried trout.
Thanks for the invite Will.

Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
