The fallen officer got me thinking about when I was in Houston in the 70's and Jack Heard was the sheriff, had been the chief of police. He had such an outstanding career, and accomplished so much. I knew his son, Jack jr, for a short while and really liked him. Now in my research find out he is in prison for all kinds of fraud. How very sad, and I'm certainly glad his Dad had passed before all that happened. You just never know about people.
