Muddy water in the creeks

I went to White Rock Creek yesterday and today. Yesterday was mostly scouting, and a little bait gathering.

I went back today hoping to put the shad caught yesterday to use cat fishing. I took a gamble and went for the long ride to a spot that can be great rod and reel blue cat fishing under the right circumstances.

There wasn't a strong enough flow for it be right, but I was hoping start there and work back to a couple of deeper pools close by until I found them.

I had a little luck, but the overnight rain even though it was light, muddied up the water more.

And the cold had probably dropped the water temp in that shallow of water.

I caught three yellow bass that were all about 10" long and real fat.

One blue cat 18" long, one yellow bullhead 13", and a 15" channel cat.

I think I caught three too small channel cats as well.

I stopped back by the spot where trapperjon caught the shad in the cast net yesterday and made a few throws, but no shad today.

I did not see them on sonar either, so cold weather moved them off to deeper water I suppose.

It was a cold ride, but beautiful scenery as I was the only boat on the creek, so I got to see plenty of wildlife along the banks and in the sky.

On the way there as I crossed WRC on FM 356 right at the creek bridge there was a bird frenzy going on. As I hit the approach to the bridge a bald eagle flew up from the water a few feet from the bank a fish in it's talons.

I got a good look at it, and it was fine!
