Late Thanksgiving report - and my new Pup

Went out after lunch from Surfside with my Daughter and our two dogs. This was my new pups first boat trip. Was meet with sloppy 2-3's plus out of the jetties. A lot of big boat traffic and with the dredging no room on the inside of the jetties to fish. Made several drifts out in front of the jetties and the outside humps to the south, no luck, lost a couple of baits. little after dark, came back in and my daughter was determined to catch a fish on Thanksgiving. The tide was on a rise and we had some bait left. We anchored up just south of Surfside Marina, along the edge of the inter coastal, there is a cut back. Thought we might be able to find a flounder or two. rigged up a couple of trout rods, lost a few good bits, then the left corner rod just went off, no bumps, just a flat hit and run. My daughter had her Thanksgiving fish. A nice big ugly followed shortly by my Thanksgiving fish. Hers was 29 pounds and mine bottom the bogas out. My pup did great on the boat other then snitching a Spanish Sardine for a late night snack.

We thought it was funny that we caught these two brutes a couple hundred yards from where we keep the boat at.

Tight lines

Leadweight.

My dog does not have two different colored eyes, just the lights.

My new pup came from the Montgomery Animal Shelter. I have had him about a month now. He is around 5 months old. I named him Tiberius Rex or T-Rex for short. They said he was a lab mix but I think there is something else dominate in there.
