Fish On Trinity Bay (Specks) Saturday 11/29

I hope everyone had a good Holiday and enjoyed plenty of Turkey.

Saturday was a fun day of fishing; the early AM water was 59.1 degrees making to 60 by mid day. Winds were steady out of the S SE, great for drifting, water clarity was good, tide seemed steady all day with the water being up.

Specs were in the upper Bay for us, hooking up on the first casts and nearly every cast all day long. Many small fish were taking the bait in the early AM, 5:1 to the keepers. The nicer trout were holding closer to the bottom in the deeper water, while the smaller fish were going though our bait quickly. By mid morning we landed one limit of nice Trout, moving into shallower water the hits were slower to come, but the size of fish improved. By later morning we had two limits in the live well, and released many more by the end of the day. No Reds on this outing, one under sized flounder and a large sand trout were landed. At the fish cleaning station we observed several nice trout being cleaned, no reds, black drum, sheepshead or flounder were among those catches.

An FYI to those who may fish out of Thompson's Fish Camp, today is their last day for the season, they will reopen in April with the ramp remaining open.
