Left out of Sabine around 8:30am saturdy morning to good conditions. Few T-storms out about 30 miles that we had to run around. Plan was to fish our way out to the shelf then look for some night time topwater tuna action under the supermoon. On the way out came across a bunch of anchored shrimp boats, the calm conditions made it perfect for fishing behind them. Did not take long to get bonita and ling up. First boat had one keeper ling on it, second shrimp boat had another keeper ling. Third shrimp boat had a lot of large ling under it. We boxed a four man limit of ling up to 50lbs. One of the largest ling of the trip I broke off twice before finally getting a good hook set and getting her in the boat. She was swimming around with two of my hooks in here mouth, laughing at me but I got the last laugh. We found the tuna around 150' of water, got them on chunks and vertical jigs. Trolled at sunset without much to show for the effort. Really was thinking and wanting the night time bite to be better with the supermoon. Little disapoited in the action, still had some topwater action but not as good as I would have liked. Trolled some more at daylight with misc fish. Stopped a couple of spots to look for grouper, only to get large AJs. Had a good trip with a great crew.
