Target: Bull Reds, Drum, Jacks and any shark I can cast to. I do not kayak.
My two set ups are:
Jigmaster with 300yds of 30# mono on a 10' Ugly Stik Heavy.
Daiwa Sealine 40SHA on a 9' FTU Surf Caster Heavy.
The Daiwa 40SHA holds 270yds of 30#. Was wanting a little more capacity without dropping in line class. I just spooled with 300yds of 50# Spider Wire Braid but when I did the top shot of 30# Ande I only have about 75 yds of mono.
My questions are:
1. Do you guys fish this type of reel and if so what are you spooling it with for surf fishing/casting for reds, drum and small/medium sharks.
2. What is your opinion of my current Braid to Mono mix? Do you think it should be 150 yds of 50# braid and more mono?
3. How do you figure the capacity when using two lines?
