Padre Island Conditions

I have learned PINS has been closed because of the beach cleanup. I have already spent $600 for cottage at Port Aransas for me and my two sons to

stay in while surf fishing this weekend.

What are the actual conditions down there? Could we fish the surf at Mustang Island? What are our options?

I have posted this same plea in the "surf Fishing" blog. This is a big deal for me and I really need your input.
