Today I had Charlie, Bill, and Carroll returning for their annual (sometimes semi-annual) get together. They worked together for years, now two of them are retired.
We had to move three times today, First spot produced a dozen fish, second all throw backs, final spot found them hungry.
They ended the day with 70 cats, largest going 5.2#.
For the third time I used my tailgate to clean fish instead of the Birch Creek cleaning table. Table is new, but does not offer advantages the old table had, that being level so fish do not slip into the gut bucket, one water hose instead of two, not as much working room on the side, when four people are at the table. Right now White bass are so easy to catch that everyone has white bass, so the cleaning table is extra busy now. When I clean on my tailgate, I cannot get to the gut bucket to throw the heads away, if four people are using the table. Nice not to have buzzards hanging around though.
All fish caught in 2-4 foot water, under corks, on CJ's Crawdad punch bait.
