left handed lew's reel

75$ brand new 8324284612 located in kemah

West bay crazy day.

I started off somehow hooking up with a very ****** off mullet on a mirrodine followed by an even more ****** off stingray on a soft plastic. Can't explain either but they were an exciting fight. Waded a dropoff near a sand flat/incoming tide/66* water/sandy green, and snagged a few trout on a plum/chart norton. Started throwing a corky of the same color and had a big girl inhale it to almost the colon. She was obviously not going to make it so i strung her and continued to mess around in the shallows while a buddy continued to work the drop off. Saw some bait busting, had to throw directly in front of it, and was instantly hooked up on a huge blow up. Fought a jack for about an hour that maxed out the 30# boga. Hel of a fight on a light trout rod. All together a good day. 3 good keepers, one big girl and a good fight from the jack. I would definitely do it again.

Replacement TRP Prop: Where to find?

I've got some knicks in my rearmost TRP prop, the R3 19P prop, and can't seem to find one anywhere for sale. Anyone know of a place I could purchase just that single prop (since my other prop is perfect)?

Also, do you really need the "Yamaha special TRP prop wrench" to remove the props? I heard somewhere you could just use a 1 1/16 socket wrench and it does the same job. That would save me 80$.

Any input is appreciated.

New to boating. a couple questions for you guys..

Well I've been fishing my entire life but I've always used a kayak or waded. I've has a couple small riveted john boats that only had a trolling motor or a small tiller. I just recently purchased I guess u could say "real" boat. Its a tracker allweld 1754 with a mercury 60 horse. I really enjoy fishing rivers and bays. My first question is about running your boat in shallow water. I have put in on the trinity a few times and I have already broke the prop that came on the boat. I hit a rock and it spun the prop and broke 2 of the blades. I just bought a new prop for it. I got a power tech stainless. To be honest it really worries me how much stuff have have been hiting. I mean even if I drive slow and keep and eye out there is just so much stuff right under the surface u just can't see.and I always see other boats just flying by like they aren't worried about a thing? Do you guys just cross your fingers and go?

My second question is on fish finders. I got a laurance elite 7 hdi. The first time I ever took the boat out it worked perfectly. But since then, anytime I got over 25mph it stops reading the depth. Like it cant keep up with the boat. And it didnt do that before? Do yall think its possible I hit the transducer on something and damaged it?

Let me know what yall think.

Thanks, Alex:texasflag

Effects of Oil Spill?

While heading out from Freeport for some state water Snapper we came across several light oil slicks and this. Anyone know what this is? I assume it's the effects of the recent oil spill.

Proverbs 26

1 Like snow in summer, like rain in harvest,

honor for a fool is out of place.

2 Like the sparrow in its flitting, like the swallow in its flight,

a curse uncalled-for never lands.

3 The whip for the horse, the bridle for the ***,

and the rod for the back of fools.

4 Do not answer fools according to their folly,

lest you too become like them.

5 Answer fools according to their folly,

lest they become wise in their own eyes.

6 Those who send messages by a fool

cut off their feet; they drink down violence.

7 A proverb in the mouth of a fool

hangs limp, like crippled legs.

8 Giving honor to a fool

is like entangling a stone in the sling.

9 A thorn stuck in the hand of a drunkard

is a proverb in the mouth of fools.

10 An archer wounding all who pass by

is anyone who hires a drunken fool.

11 As dogs return to their vomit,

so fools repeat their folly.

12 You see those who are wise in their own eyes?

There is more hope for fools than for them.

13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the street,

a lion in the middle of the square!”

14 The door turns on its hinges

and sluggards, on their beds.

15 The sluggard buries a hand in the dish,

too weary to lift it to the mouth.

16 In their own eyes sluggards are wiser

than seven who answer with good judgment.

17 Whoever meddles in the quarrel of another

is one who grabs a passing dog by the ears.

18 Like a crazed archer

scattering firebrands and deadly arrows,

19 Such are those who deceive their neighbor,

and then say, “I was only joking.”

20 Without wood the fire dies out;

without a talebearer strife subsides.

21 Charcoal for coals, wood for fire—

such are the quarrelsome, enkindling strife.

22 The words of a talebearer are like dainty morsels:

they sink into one’s inmost being.

23 Like a glazed finish on earthenware

are smooth lips and a wicked heart.

24 With their lips enemies pretend,

but inwardly they maintain deceit;

25 When they speak graciously, do not trust them,

for seven abominations are in their hearts.

26 Hatred can be concealed by pretense,

but malice will be revealed in the assembly.

27 Whoever digs a pit falls into it;

and a stone comes back upon the one who rolls it.

28 The lying tongue is its owner’s enemy,

and the flattering mouth works ruin.

Referral for Progressive Reloader

Gents, need a recommendation for a progressive .45/9mm reloader. My old single stage MEC is wonders on rifle loads, but me or the gear is slipping and I can not get the consistency needed. I am more interested in quality vs speed and volume of produced rounds at this time. What is the most reliable mid-range capacity unit you would recommend? Estimate $ spend and where to purchase? Look forward to the feedback! Thanks....:texasflag

I would need clean underwear after this!

Head on with Cement truck caught on dashcam! No deaths or serious injuries!

Quote:

Texas A&M veterinary professor Dr. Guan Zhu is very fortunate to have escaped serious injury or even death when a cement truck tipped on its side and slammed into the professor's car in College Station.

Dr. Guan Zhu had a dash camera that he had installed about a year ago in case he was ever involved in a crash.

He should go buy some lottery tickets!

Bay Boat in Fresh Water?

A buddy of mine suggested we use my Transport Baby Cat for a freshwater tourney. The previous owner of my boat used to win freshwater tourneys on the boat (so he says) so im thinking of trying it out... any thought? Thanks

Earl Campbell Famous Sauce

Have any of y'all seen this stuff in any Houston area stores? My wife has been ordering from their website but it would be great to find it locally.

It rocks on deer sausage and just about any kind of meat.

west bay, galveston

Is it just me or has this been a tough spring out there. I fish south shore bayous, mid bay reefs, north shore grass, back lakes... I've been fishing in different weather conditions, different times of the day, changing depths, transitioning through sand, mud, shell, grass, wind blown shores. I think i've been out 5 times in w bay from march till now and barely have a couple reds and a few scrappy trout. I do not know how to fish the spring time. I have the dvd's and i'm sure the answers are in there but dang... I'm ready for warmer waters.

SS report 4-9-14 Mixed bag

Byron and Pam went out with me today and we did some white bass fishing and caught one nice blue cat fish (8#s) drifting before I had to head in for a doctor's appointment.

I showed them the usual spots and we caught a few good white bass, and a whole lot of yellow bass.

The white bass were suspended over the same structures that they have been hanging around on the bottom.

Something had them upset today, the big rise coming maybe?

The south end was dingy from the high wind yesterday whipping the lake up and making the points bleed long streams of mud line. It's the first time it's been noticeably dingy in a long time.

Loons are all over the place this year, we saw many today.

It seems they are more boat friendly than they used to be.

See you the water.

P.S.

Hand surgery the 22nd, for arthritis and damage that the big drum did to me when the reel slipped into free spool. It will be a quick in and out and short recovery, I hope.

Small fish

I am having a birthday party for my future daughter on her 4th birthday and I am needing to get perch, bass, catfish, and crappie. I live in Lake Jackson and need help looking for more ponds. I only need a few. We will have a small pool made at the house for the fish. I will return them Sunday morning. Just needing them for Friday and Saturday party. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
