Great article from EJ's mag on finishing hard baits

Shane Meche did an article 6-7 years ago on "how to" refinish your hard baits over in EJ's magazine.

He shows a quick simple way to epoxy coat your top water baits including even older ones so that they look better than brand new. I was fishing with him around that time and they look nice and the finish will hold for a long time.

He was coating the new mirrored lures to keep the new finish and was also painting his own baits with createx paints (water Based) and then coating the baits in the above manner and putting a finish on the baits that would last.

This is for the guys a couple of months ago that were looking to paint or repaint and refinish their old baits.

One modification is on the painting board and you can use a rod turning motor or possibly the old BBQ pit motor that you never use to make a nice wheel to be able to turn multiple baits at the time. I have a piece of Styrofoam that I used attached to the bbq motor and it did a nice job for turning several baits at the time. Just leave the bait held in the exacta knife and have the knife stuck into the foam
