Why is this important?
Right now, the Gulf Council is in session in Point Clear, AL, voting on how to ‘finish the job’ of giving your fish to a few charter boat owners. Perrett, Pearce and Greene could be the deciding vote in moving forward with this highly contested and overwhelmingly opposed idea called Sector Separation (Amendment 40). They did not disclose to the Secretary of Commerce (and the public) that they are on the Board of Directors for Gulf Seafood Institute, which is a known supporter of Sector Separation and is involved in lobbying on Capitol Hill. They have been in violation of the law by not disclosing this on their NOAA Form 88-195 Statement of Financial Interests.
