airmar 2KW/3KW

Is anyone familiar with the airmar thru hull transducers R99 and R209/R309? Im trying to decide if its worth the extra cash to step up to the 3KW or not. My sounder is a Furuno FCV-1100L Im told the new chirp transducers work just as good with this sounder, you just dont get the chirp capability, but if upgrading transducer buying a chirp ducer now saves buying another in future if I upgrade my sounder. Im mainly looking at the new chirp wide beam ducers R109LH-W and R509LH-W, which on my sounder will be comparable to the R99 or the R209/R309.
