My son and I bought this 42ft. Boat from a guy in Louisiana in May and discovered that it had more problems than we noticed when we where taking it for a test ride in what turned out to be pouring down rain. but we where enjoying being able to get inside of the cabin of the boat instead of having to just tough it out with a T-top style boat like we've always had so we didn't look it over as well as we should have but I was a little blinded by the twins. but the real value of the Boat was the twin 300 Yams which have almost no hours on them and run Beautifully. so I pay the guy cash for the boat and haul it from Baton Rouge to Port A in pouring down rain. fun fun fun!!! So first thing out of the gate we haul out to Baker the ride was great!! really smooth and dry:)!!!that's when we realized that the live wells not only didn't work but they wouldn't even hold water without leaking into the hull of the boat!! So we determined what all need to be fixed and redone hauled it up to Austin and have spent the last 6mos. refurbishing it( I have my own machine shop). I put in a New generator re-did the whole back end of the boat where the live wells where I had a custom 70 gal. live well built and some custom tackle boxes made with plenty of space for tackle I ran blue lighting throughout the boat Blue underwater lights as well as a light bar that lights it up like Day light when it's on, a 6 man life raft and a EPRB system.
We've got a lot of other things we want to do to customize our boat but I've spent a wad of cash getting it where it's at and my beautiful little Wife as patient as she's been is starting to give me the evil eye. So me being the well trained Husband I am knows when it's time to just shut up and go fishing!!!
We're excited about getting her out! Thinking about naming it the Gladiator in reference to the Sword fish the gladiator of the sea.
