Safety equipment

I have not been out much lately but I wanted to remind everyone about safety equipment on your boat. I know the law requires some equipment but make sure it is in working condition. Yesterday I was going across Lake Livingston and noticed a lot of smoke coming from a boat. Went to check it out and as I got there I saw 3 adults on the front of the boat with PFD's on and 2 adults putting the fire out without a PFD on. The fire extinguisher just went dry as they put the fire out. Always make sure you have a good working fire extinguisher and plenty of PFD's on board and on you. This could happen to anyone. This boat had just came out of the shop this week. I towed them back to Beacon Bay marina. Nice people but just had some bad luck. By the way it has been a month since I went fishing but I did manage a limit of whites and 5 stripers. I guess every one gets lucky sometimes.
