Best CAI/ Air Filter?

I'm currently running a Volant CAI with a Volant Power Core filter on my 2009 GMC Sierra Z71. I do a lot of surf fishing and this intake recently cost me a couple $$$$ for letting sand into the engine and ruining lifters/cam. What intake would you recommend so this doesn't happen again. Should I be using a pre-filter when I get into sand? I really liked the volant but apparently it's not good for offroad use.
