Looking to replace a 5.4 Triton in 2001 Ford F150 and trying to research the best option. Currently looking at to find a used motor, but most of them that have been located are $1700 and up with high mileage.
I also have several quotes for a rebuilt motor from several motor replacement/rebuilders in Houston that are not much more than the used motor option. We are currently looking at Texon Motor Center, they seem to be reputable with high marks from BBB, and these quote not much more than the used - quoted $3600 (includes sales tax) drive out.
Does anyone have good (or bad experiences) using Texon any of the other motor replacement companies in Houston?
