When the wife and I started diving back in 2000, we purchased all new gear, regs, BCs, etc. Well after laying off of few years, I did my refresher course and I got back in to diving last year and had all our equipment gone through by HSA. They placed dated tags on our bc and regs which were actually checked by our Cozumel outfitter, Dressel Divers at the Iberostar.
Question: Is it something fairly new that requires us to have our gear "inspected" yearly. We are going back in June and was wondering if i have to go through this expense again. I know about the inspection regs on our 2 tanks but didn't know it existed for our BCs etc. Hope its not a "stupid" question but when we got our C cards back in 2000, we regularly dove till 08' and never had our dive gear "inspected" during those 8 years. thanks in advance.
