Job Description
Freeport Marina is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to move vessels in and out of the water and to designated work areas. Prior experience operating a forklift in a dry storage marina and handling vessels up to 38' and 20,000 lbs is preferred.
Operate marina forklifts to move boats to and from the water during marina hours.
Move boats to and from the launch area to staging docks.
Maintain marina forklift, visually inspect forklift daily.
Responsible for setting racks to accommodate the unique characteristics of each vessel in the dry stack facility.
Fueling vessels, assisting vessel owners with ice, bait and other needs.
Assist in “off-season” construction and maintenance projects.
Assist in Ship’s Store, both sales and inventory.
Building and grounds maintenance.
Requirements
Perform fine hand movements and repetitive arm-hand-eye movements operating forklift and other machinery.
Must be physically cabable of operating vehicles safely.
Walking considerable distances and sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to swim.
Must possess the ability to work well with others as well as the general public.
Must be able to maintain a good work ethic and public service skills in adverse circumstances.
Must be able to work under pressure and with time constraints.
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License
