Problem (trout)

So here is my problem, which is a good one to have by the way. Im fishing a spot that I know holds trout because im catching them on every cast with live shrimp, but when i switch to lures i cant get a bite. I used vudoo shrimp, norton lures, and chicken on the chain and nada. So my questi is what lure should i use to get them to connect? Live ahrimp is fun but i like a test every once in awhile. Also, they were biting close to the upper/mid collumn of the water. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
