Looking to purchase on Conroe

Hello fellow 2Coolers.



My wife and I recently purchased a home on the north side of Livingston and are enjoying the lake life. Actually, we have enjoyed it so much, we are debating moving out of the city. Our major issue is that the schools in our area have very poor ratings. We want to move our kids out of the city, but not jeopardize their education. Although I am going to keep fishing Livingston, we are thinking about moving to Conroe because of the school district. We are looking at spending in the 350K to 400K price range and it seems that you can purchase a nicer home for that amount on Conroe. I do have concern about the water level or lack there of. I do know that it has been low the last few years and just recently came back up to level. Can any of you 2Coolers give me some information about the lake when the water is low? What areas of the lake are greatly affected? I don't want to move onto a lake if it is going to end up like Lake Travis.
