Yamaha YES Plan

Question for newer Yamaha owners - if you don't buy the extended warranty upfront, does the YES plan get more expensive the longer you wait? I have a 15 month old 250 SHO and will for sure buy the protection at some point, just trying to figure out if it will cost me a ton if I wait. The current offer is $2700 for 3 years (2 years is $2300 so the 3rd year is a no-brainer). Unfortunately, I needed to repower ASAP last year in May which is not the time of year they throw in the extended warranty.
