Surf Assessment for trout

Now that we are into August, what are everyone's thoughts as to how the summer trout fishing was along the Texas beachfront compared to other years? I've been fishing the surfside areas.



My experience is only limited to this year and last year but I had a much better year last summer, using both live and artys. Catching a lot more dink trout this summer. I'm sure the late cold fronts and sargassum didn't help early on.
