SS report 8-23 Catching dinner

I had a cancellation early today so I moseyed down and took my time fishing for stripers first, then later some blue cats to eat.

The zebras schooled pretty good, a lot of hard hits going on by some big fish today.

I kept one 22" and went on for some shad after it looked like a longer game than I wanted to play to get back in striper action.

I wanted some blue cat fish to fry any way.

I got some shad and went to a ridge.

Found some cat fish on the sonar/downscan and dropped some shad on top of them.

Bam! A 10 pound blue is in the cooler. Then a five pounder, then it slowed to a few real tasty 2 pounders and I went in. Trimmed the cats until they were snow white and put the zip lock bags of fillets on ice.

Went home got cleaned up, then fried some cat fish up a little bit ago, mmmmmm good. :work:

I highly recommend fishing for stripers first then blue cat fish later, although the white bass are an option as well.

Trips are available from September 3rd to the 5th, and the 9th and 10th.

Then the 14th to the 29th excluding the 17th.

I'm telling ya those blue cats are delicious.

See you on the water.
