Today was it. He had waited quite sometime and finally the day arrived. The day my Son enlisted in the Army. He took his ASVAB last week and scored really well. Good enough to have his first assignment be Ranger training. Something he says he really wants to do.
Both Grandpas served, I could not. But I suppose their service and our family's deep appreciation for those who did and do gave him that drive.
He'll play his senior year out as OLB and says this years "gonna be da bomb". I'm really proud of him and hope his Airborne days do turn to Ranger days too.
Keep your kids safe while letting them breathe, teach them every chance you get, and take them fishing and hunting.
