Lure Colors... help

I am looking at trying some different colors of swimming lures. I have noticed that some colors work better than others based upon where you are fishing (news flash). I am a fan of Saltwater Assassin 4" Sea Shads and am now fishing in Matagorda, but there are like 50 different colors available. I have seen posts that ask for what colors work best... I am open for recommendations but understand some people need to keep their golden secrets. So, I am asking what colors do not work? I don't want to experiment on lure colors that are known for being NOT being productive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
