Kenner restoration?

I have a 21 ft Kenner TV that is going to need to be completely restored and repowered before too much longer. Ive been kicking around some ideas of changing the floor layout of the boat. I want to remove the two front storage compartments completely, and was also thinking of removing the rear deck, just trying to gain more room in the boat. To compensate for some of the storage loss of removing those, i was thinking of having the console raised some, and using the space underneath for batteries, life jackets and other necesities. So my questions are, has anyone ever seen a Kenner with a raised console? Would this just look rediculous? Is this just a bad idea and i should just stick with the normal old kenner floor layout? Id love to drop 60K on a new custom built boat, but thats just not an option. Plus i love my kenner hull.
