I have been asked for my fishing license a few times and I gladly provide it. I was once asked if I had my license by a police officer once while fishing from a pier.
I told him it was in my truck, which was just a few steps away, and asked if he would like to see it...
He said, Yes, if ya don't mind.
His statement got me curious as to whether he has authority to ask for it. Did he? Does a constable, sheriff deputy, marshall or whomever also have the authority to do so?
I couldn't find much when googling or searching 2cool.
