bleaching a John boat

I got a John boat where leaves, dead shrimp, all sorts of nasty stuff gets caught under the seats where I can't reach them even with a power washer. Going to fill my boat with water and add a couple bottles of bleach and let it soak. Concerned about whether this will eat at the Styrofoam under the seats and or the paint. Anyone else had this problem and have a better solution?
