Today, I started to dine at a local Katy barbque establishment. They have always been friendly with us over the past year or so since we started going there. But, today after going in and waiting in line to place my order, I witnessed a medium size cockroach crawling over the serrano peppers. After showing it to my wife, neither one of us could stomach eating there. These peppers were on the front counter in plain sight of the person taking the orders and me the customer.
As I left, I thought maybe I should be up front with them so they can take action to rememdy the situation and possibly go back in the future. So, I called them on the phone. When the lady who runs the place picked up, I very politely told her that I was just in there and what I saw. Out of nowhere, she became very angry and told me, "We are NOT a dirty establishment!!!"
C'mon, man. In my line of work, I know that all restaurants have pest control problems. Its part of the restaurant business. I don't know of any restaurants that I have ever worked in that didn't have to control the rodent or roach problems.
Instead of hearing 'I'm sorry, we'll get it fixed', I got yelled at for trying to help them out a little.
