I am going to make a little 3 tier shelf system and need some advice. It is going to set over the trash can so with the lid open it needs to clear 37 inches. Looking for table legs that long has been tough. Everything I find it custom made and way more than I want to spend for what it is.
My question: Can I use wood closet rods for the legs? I can cut those to the lengths that I need and I would think they would support that weight fine. Its going to hold a keurig and some coffee on the lowest biggest shelf. The middle which will be smaller will hold some lightweight things, cell phones, keys, charges, and junk my wife piles on there. The top shelf will hold some cook books and it will be the smallest shelf.
Tell me if I am way off on my thought process....this is just to free up counter space in a small kitchen. I don't want to spend a fortune...just make something presentable and functional. Thanks for any advice
